I think I might be late coming to this party, but has anyone else noticed the dramatic degree to which music videos look better on Vimeo than on YouTube? Is it that their monetization scheme is more direct so they can afford better quality in the short term? Is it that everything Google does takes 18 months to roll out, so HD is set to finally cascade across YouTube some time around never? Is it a missionary impulse, where we’re all going to have to acclimate ourselves to crappy quality to make streaming work over the next two to five years, and Google is here to help?
None of which has anything to do with this song – this is just an acoustic cover of Addicted To Love by Florence and the Machine underneath album art, and make sure you stick with it at least until the :50 mark – but the difference really is stark.
